A Tree Plantation Programme was organised by S. S. Girls’ College, Gondia on 08 August 2026 at Goushala, Pindakepaar Road, Gondia, on the occasion of the birthday of Hon’ble Shri Rajendra Ji Jain, Secretary, Gondia Education Society and Member of Parliament of India.

The programme was conducted in the morning with the enthusiastic participation of the teaching and non-teaching staff members and students of the college. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage the values of conservation, sustainability and social responsibility among students.

The participating staff members and students planted a number of saplings in and around the Goushala premises. The activity conveyed the important message that protecting and increasing green cover is a collective responsibility and that every individual can contribute towards building a cleaner and healthier environment.

The college community expressed its warm wishes to Hon’ble Shri Rajendra Ji Jain on the occasion and dedicated the plantation activity as a meaningful gesture towards environmental protection and community welfare.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment by the staff and students to nurture the planted saplings and actively participate in future environmental initiatives. The event reflected the college’s commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility and community engagement.

The yoga session was conducted under the expert guidance of Miss Kanchan Thakrani, who served as the Chief Trainer, along with her team members Miss Deepika Khatwani, Miss Priti Prithyani, Miss Suman Gupta and Miss Swati Lalwani. The trainers guided the participants through various yoga postures, breathing exercises and practices aimed at improving physical and mental health. Students and staff participated enthusiastically in the session.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Sharda Mahajan emphasized the significance of yoga in maintaining a balanced and healthy life. She said that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a holistic practice that strengthens the body, calms the mind and develops inner discipline. She encouraged students to make yoga a regular part of their daily routine and highlighted its importance in managing stress and maintaining positive mental health.

The programme was anchored by Dr. Iswari Khatwani, who conducted the proceedings with grace and enthusiasm. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Lakhan Gaidhane, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Principal, the yoga trainers, team members, staff and students for their valuable contribution and enthusiastic participation in making the celebration successful. The celebration concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the message that “Yoga for Self and Society” can contribute significantly towards a healthier, happier and more harmonious life.

The Department of Home Economics of S.S. Girls College, Gondia, run by Gondia Education Society, successfully organised a farewell programme for the final year B.A. students. The event, titled “Aagaz-e-Alvida”, was held under the able guidance of respected Patron of Gondia Education Society, Shri Prafulbhai Patel, President Smt. Varshatai Patel, Secretary Shri Rajendra Jain, and Director Shri Nikhil Jain, along with the dynamic leadership of the college Principal, Dr. Sharda Mahajan.
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp. The welcome address and introduction were delivered by Dr. G. A. Bhalerao, Head of the Department of Home Economics.
In her presidential address, Principal Dr. Sharda Mahajan guided the students with inspiring words and extended her best wishes for a bright future. She encouraged the students to continue their education, choose their passion-driven fields, and strive to stand on their own feet with confidence and determination.
Dr. Gokula Bhalerao, Head of the Department, provided valuable insights into various career opportunities available in the field of Home Economics. She motivated the students to pursue higher studies, particularly M.A. in Home Economics, and wished them success in all their future endeavours.
The successful organisation of the programme was made possible through the dedicated efforts and cooperation of Dr. G. A. Bhalerao, Dr. Madhuri Khobragade, Prof. Deepti Brahmankar, and Prof. Rashmi Randive from the Department of Home Economics.

Under the aegis of Gondia Education Society, S.S. Girls College, Gondia, successfully organized “Gyanjyoti Parv” to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule.
The program was organized under the able guidance of the society’s patrons — respected Prabhulbhai Patel, President Vrushalatai Patel, Secretary Rajendraji Jain, and Director Nikhilji Jain — and under the dynamic leadership of the college Principal, Dr. Sharda Mahajan.
The main objective of the program was to instill the thoughts and ideals of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule in the lives of the students.
A series of events were organized from 8th April to 11th April 2026 to educate the girl students about the life, work, struggles, and philosophy of Jyotirao Phule.
On 8th April 2026, Dr. Gokula Bhalerao, Head of the Home Economics Department, delivered an enlightening session titled “Jyotiba Ki Pathshala”, in which she threw light on the life, contributions, and progressive thoughts of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and motivated the students.
On 10th April 2026, a General Knowledge Competition and an Essay Competition were organized to test the students’ knowledge about Mahatma Jyotirao Phule.

Addressing the students on this occasion, Principal Dr. Sharda Mahajan said:
“On this auspicious occasion of Jyotirao Phule’s birth anniversary, we remember his great ideals —
‘Education is Power’,
‘Equal Rights for All’, and
‘Rejection of Blind Faith and Superstition’.
This program is a small but sincere effort to carry forward these ideals. I am confident that all of you will imbibe these values in your lives and act according to his progressive thoughts.”
On this occasion, students Ku. Divya Meshram, Ku. Payal Talte, Ku. Meenakshi Meshram, along with Dr. Archana Jain, Prof. Sandeep Rahul, Dr. Sudhir Gautam, and Prof. Patle also expressed their thoughts on the life and work of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule.
At the concluding ceremony, Principal Dr. Sharda Mahajan felicitated all the winning students by presenting them with prizes and certificates.
The program was compered by the organizer Dr. Gokula Bhalerao, while Prof. Deepti Brahmanakar proposed the vote of thanks.
The program was graced by the presence of Arts Faculty In-charge Dr. Jain, Home Science Faculty In-charge Dr. Khatwani, Dr. Narde, all teaching and non-teaching staff members, and a large number of students.
The successful organization of “Gyanjyoti Parv” was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr. G.A. Bhalerao (Head, Home Economics Department), Dr. Madhuri Khobragade, Prof. Deepti Chute, Prof. Rashmi Randive, Prof. Sandeep Rahul (Department of Political Science), and the active participation of the students.

Under the successful guidance of Gondia Education Society, the Home Economics Department of S.S. Girls College, Gondia, organized a grand programme titled “Nayi Udaan Purani Yaade” to welcome the first-year MA students and bid farewell to the second-year MA students.
The event was held under the able patronage of Hon. Prafulbhai Patel (Chief Patron), Hon. Varshatai Patel (Chairperson), Hon. Rajendraji Jain (Secretary), and Hon. Nikhilji Jain (Director), and under the dynamic leadership and support of the college Principal, Hon. Dr. Sharda Mahajan.

Dr. Jain (In-charge, Arts Faculty), Dr. G.A. Bhalerao, Dr. Madhuri Khobragade, Prof. Deepti Brahmankar, and Prof. Rashmi Randive also addressed the gathering, offering heartfelt blessings to all MA first-year and second-year students and presenting them with notebooks as a token of welcome.
On this occasion, the second-year MA students shared their memorable experiences. The student representative, Ku. Payal Waghade, along with Saloni Tadekar, Sonali Sardare, Ranju Harde, Yukti Mane, Neelam Mane, Mamta Lilhare, Namrata Bhivgade, Achal Chanap, Bhumeshwari Raut, Priyanka Turkar, and Rohini Iskape, expressed their feelings and gratitude.
The programme was efficiently anchored by Nupur Thantharate, a first-year MA student. The vote of thanks was proposed by Saloni Tandekar, a second-year MA student.
The success of the programme was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr. G.A. Bhalerao (Head, Home Economics Department), Dr. Madhuri Khobragade, Prof. Deepti Brahmankar, Prof. Rashmi Randive, and the first-year MA students: Nupur Thantharate, Laxmi Dadure, Neha Khandwaye, Santoshi Sakhare, Maya Padhre, Sheetal Vadhive, Leena Undirwade, Mangla Katre, Anjali Sursaut, Ritika Tamrkar, Rupa Kunjam, Nalini Thakare, Pooja Vadhai, Reshma Parteeti, Surbhi Bahekar, Pragya Shende, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
The programme beautifully blended nostalgia with new beginnings, leaving lasting memories in the hearts of all students and faculty members.

With the aim of making the students self-reliant and preparing them for self-employment, the college tries to develop various skills in the students.
For this, the students are motivated for various trainings and are also given the opportunity to take training.
Under this, the students were given the opportunity to participate in the 30-day free training program of “Beautician” organized by BOI Rseti, Gondia Bank of India Gramin swyrojgar society.

Home Economics Department and the Incubation Center of S.S. Girls’ College, Gondia, operated by Gondia Education Society, and Pilot mashroom farm &academy,
At- Bamhani, pauni, dist.- Bhandara jointly organized Mushroom Cultivation Training for students from 10 March to 20 March 2026.
The main objective of this training was to develop entrepreneurial skills among students, making them self-reliant and encouraging their interest in the field of entrepreneurship. Over one months, students received both practical and theoretical knowledge on mushroom cultivation from Rupali Gajbhiye of Pilot Mushroom Farm and Academy, Bhandara.
During the training, students were given hands-on experience in mushroom production, including:

• Sowing mushroom seeds,
• Preparing compost fertilizer,
• Maintaining the required temperature,
• Understanding the growth cycle of mushrooms,
• Harvesting mushrooms,
• Packaging and marketing the produce.
  At the end of the training, certificates were awarded to the participants.

The organisers of this training were Dr.Gokula Amit Bhalerao (Head of the Home Economics Department and Incubation Center Coordinator), along with Dr. Madhuri Khobragade, Prof. Rashmi Randive, and Prof. Deepti Brahmankar.
Total 18 student were benifited by the training.

The course was formally inaugurated by Principal Dr. Sharda Mahajan and Mrs. Ashwini Tembhurnikar from RSETI.

After the inauguration, the registration of students was completed and the course commenced.

In the modern era, greater emphasis is being placed on start-ups, small-scale industries, and entrepreneurship. With the objective of helping youth establish themselves in the field of business and develop skills required to compete with larger companies, this certificate course was organized.

The chief trainer and speaker, Mrs. Chetna Patil from Jalgaon, conducted the training sessions. Mr. Abdul Wasim (Director, RSETI) along with Mr. Arvind and Mrs. Ashwini also provided important guidance related to Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) and employment opportunities through various sessions during the course.

During the training program, students created various types of jewelry using materials such as jute, wooden, fabric, glass beads, silk thread, leather, flowers, terracotta, chilled beads, shells, and fusion materials.

Students were also trained in costing and labeling of the jewelry produced during the training.

To showcase the jewelry made by the students, an RSETI Bazaar was organized where citizens of Gondia city were invited to view and appreciate the creativity and skills of the students.

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Sharda Mahajan congratulated the students and emphasized the importance of self-employment. She also encouraged the students by purchasing some of their jewelry.

All participating students were awarded certificates.

The staff and students of the college congratulated and appreciated the trained participants.

The successful organization of the training program was made possible with the efforts of Coordinator Dr. Gokula Bhalerao and Dr. Ishwari Khatwani, along with supporting faculty members Dr. Madhuri Khobragade, Prof. Deepti Chute, Prof. Rashmi Randive, and the cooperation of all teaching and non-teaching staff of the college as well as all members of RSETI.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, an event titled “Jewellery Sales Market” was organized with the objective of empowering students, making them self-reliant and strong, helping them stand on their own feet, develop decision-making abilities, and prepare them for self-employment.

During the programme, an exhibition and sale of various types of jewellery made by the students was organized. Citizens of Gondia city were invited to encourage the students’ skills and to purchase the jewellery displayed by them.

The main objective of the programme was to motivate students to start new businesses in the market through innovative ideas, techniques, and products.

On this occasion, the Principal of the college, Hon. Dr. Sharda Mahajan, and Ms. Ashwini Tembhurnikar from BOI Star RSETI were felicitated by the college with mementos for their excellent work in their respective fields on the occasion of Women’s Day.

Addressing the participating students, the Principal explained how students can become self-reliant by turning their talents and skills into employment opportunities while working from home through new ideas, techniques, products, and innovative concepts.

She also spoke about how one can achieve success in life if they truly decide from the heart to do something new and meaningful.

Dr. Mahajan expressed her gratitude to the entire college family for honoring her.
