  • Session 2015-16 has been recognized as “Yoga Year” during this session Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the importance of ‘Yoga’in human life. The whole world celebrated 21st June 2015 as a “Yoga Day” with Great enthusiasm. It is a pride for our nation that Yoga was recognized from the ancient time. It is said that Yoga has been started by Spiritual Gurus and Rishimunis since ancient time. According to them it is very useful for human health. Honorable Prime Minister of India addressed in his speech to the nation that ‘Yoga’ is not only important for human health but also useful for mental peace. Because of that near about 166 countries all over the world came together to celebrate ‘Yoga Day’ on 21st June 2015.
  • S. Girls’ College, Gondia also celebrated 21st June as ‘Yoga Day’ at the onset of programme Dr. N. K. Bahekar, Principal inaugurated by lightning the lamp. In his speech principal addressed to the gathering and told the importance of ‘Yoga’. He was speaking on the subject of ‘Mind and Growth’.
  • Ratna Bahu-uddeshiya Samajik Vikas Seva Sanstha, Gondia and S. S. Girls’ College, Gondia jointly organized a programme on HIV, AIDS and Physical Education on 25th July 2015 for women. This programme was conducted under the chairmanship Dr. N. K. Bahekar, Principal he gave guidance to the students on this occasion. Similarly, Secretory of Ratna Bahu-uddeshiya Samajik Vikas Seva Sanstha, Gondia, Baghel Madam also threw light on the subject.
  • Gondia District Table Tennis Association conducted district level table tennis competition between 28th and 29th July 2015. In this competition Ku. Anita Sahare secured first position. On this occasion Principal of college, Professors and Non-teaching staff were prominently present.
  • 13thJunior Maharashtra State Tennis Ball Cricket Championship was organized between 18th to 20th August 2015 at Sangali. In thischampionship three students of S. S. Girls’ College, Gondia took participation.
  • S. Girls’ College, Gondia celebrated Major Dhyanchandji’s birth anniversary as a ‘Krida Diwas’ on 29th August 2015. Dr. N. K. Bahekar Principal in his speech told the importance of games and sports in human life.
  • Hislop College, Nagpur organized Inter-collegiate Football Competition at Nagpur University premises. In this competition students of S. S. Girls’ College, Gondia shown their strength and secured third position. Dr. Velukar, Director of Physical Education Department, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur honored students by presenting trophy.
  • Anjuman College, Nagpur organized Inter-Collegiate Chess Competition between 18th to 21st Sept 2015. In this competition a student from our college secured first place.
  • Inter-Collegiate Badminton Competition was organized between 21st to 23rd Sept 2015 at Subedar Hall, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. In this competition the students from our college reached at semi-final and secured fourth position.
  • Seventh Vidharbha Regional Championship was organized by District Table Tennis Association between 2nd to 4th Oct 2015 at Gujarati Kshatriya Samajwadi, Railtoli, Gondia. Ku. Anita Sahare student of MA-Isecured third position and felicitated with Bronze medal and cash prize.
  • Western India Football Association organized coaching camp at Kuprej Football Ground, Mumbai between 26th Oct to 9th Dec 2015. The camp was organized for selection of Maharashtra Football Team. The student of our college Ku. Jaya Kumar attended the camp.
  • Inter-collegiate Athletic Meetwas organized between 26th to 29th Oct 2015 at Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s sports premises. In this competition, Ku. Anita Sahare (MA-I) participated in long jump and secured fourth position.
  • Inter-collegiate Table Tennis Competition was organized at Anjuman College, Nagpur between 28th to 30th Oct 2015. The students from our college secured fourth position in the competition.
  • Inter-collegiate Tia-Kando Competition was organized under Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur at Nashikrao Tirpude College, Nagpur between 5thto 7thand 15th Nov 2015. The students of our college participated in the competition.
  • Nagpur Football Association organized a show match between England Team and Vidharbha Football Team at Yashwant Stadium, Nagpur on 31st 2015. Students of our college Ku. Jaya Kumar and Ku. Guori Meshram were selected for match.
  • ‘Sakal’ newspaper agency organized Leadership Development Programme for developing leadership qualities among youngsters about patriotism. Ku. Dipika Nandagawali was elected from many students and she was declared winner of the programme.
  • Inter-university Women Football Competition (West Zone) was organized at Gandhi Nagar, Ahmedabad between 8th to 14th Jan 2016. Three students form our college – Ku. Jaya Kumar, Ku. Gouri Meshramand Ku. Mangala Katre were selected in Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s team and went to participated in the competition.
  • All India University Women Netball Competition was organized and Ku. Nisha Yadav from our college was selected Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s team. The competition was held at Chandigarh between 28th Feb to 2nd Mar 2016.
  • ‘Yoga Prashikshan Shibir’ was organized under the guidance of Dr. N.K. Bahekar, Principal between 21st to 23rd Apr 2016 at the college premises. Smt. Chitra Dhomne Madam was present as a chief guest and a guide of ‘Yoga’. Dr. H. G. Chourasia delivered his speech on Indian Yoga Science and its Spiritual benefits for human beings. Smt. Chitra Dhomne and her supporters included Smt. Ranbir Kaur, Ku. Kajal Sahare and Ku. Gouri Nimunkar shown many types of Yoga styles. All the staff members were benefited through the programme.
